Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories

I was a research intern at LLNL during the summer of 2018. My work involved analysis of void creation, depth, and size in TI-64 and TI-5553 during single-track laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) experiments. I did this by importing the x-ray scans into a Mathematica code and manually selecting out apparent voids. I then characterized size and depth vs. laser power. I will be a coauthor on an upcoming paper that compares the additive manufacturing potential of Ti-64 and Ti-5553.
